Recommended Deworming Schedule:
Horses are constantly exposed to internal parasites, especially if they graze on green pastures. Horses are traditionally dewormed every 8-12 weeks, and a number of effective dewormers are available. We recommend that you employ a rotation of dewormers for maximal coverage and deworm at least twice per year for tapeworms and bots. The schedule below provides general guidelines for deworming. Your own horse's schedule may need to be adjusted based on age, condition, environment, and geographic area. Please consult Dr. Kaufman prior to using medications if your horse is pregnant, nursing, aged, in poor health, or otherwise physically compromised.
